Let’s talk about the latest Star Wars film, “The Last Jedi,” which Mrs. MAJ and I saw on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed. THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS COLUMN. DO NOT KEEP READING IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN IT.
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was in convincing people that Marvel movies are good movies. In fact, they blow chunks.
Okay, not all of them blow chunks. “Iron Man” is an objectively excellent movie. “Spider-Man Homecoming” was good. After that they’re formulaic nonsense at best.
Please send me a cordless drill so I can put holes in my head to get this song out.
For me, it was “Grace, Too” that did it, that August night.

Movie 4 of Rick the Middle Aged Joker’s 52 Favorite Movies is “Dumb and Dumber,” starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.
Today’s a movie entry! The 3rd of my 52 favorite movies is “The Thing,” the 1982 version, starring Kurt Russell and directed by John Carpenter.
Number 2 on my list of 52 all-time favourite movies is WALL-E, which stars WALL-E, and is directed and produced and written by a bunch of Pixar guys.
So I’m going to run through a review of my favorite movies of all time, adding every one for every week for the next year. Two disclaimers:
1. They’re not in order. I’m just doing them as I get around to them in whatever order strikes my fancy.
2. I am not claiming these to be the BEST 52 movies of all time. They’re just my favorite. I have chosen them based on… well, I can’t say why, I just did.
